Information in the mother tongue

Intercultural facilitators trained by HEKS/EPER visit places frequented by parents with young children and speak directly with mothers and fathers whose cultural background they share, in the language concerned. These places include playgrounds, parks, popular meeting places in the district, playgroups or migrants' associations. The facilitators talk with parents about eating habits in the family, about the connection between diet, exercise and health, and offer practical tips for everyday family life. They also draw attention to programmes on offer in the canton and municipalities, such as counselling for mothers and fathers.
