Free and unbureaucratic advice
The Legal Advice Office provides asylum seekers and temporarily admitted persons with legal advice, free of cost, every Wednesday afternoon (1.30 – 4.30 p.m.) and Friday morning (9:00 – 12:00 noon). Lawyers provide information on issues of asylum law and the law on foreign nationals and examine the legality of negative asylum decisions. In the event of actual or threatened infringements of rights they assume legal representation and support asylum seekers in enforcing their rights vis-a-vis courts and authorities.
Commissioned by the Canton of Thurgau, the Legal Advice Office also takes care of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers during their procedure. In addition, the Legal Advice Office provides continuing training and lectures on asylum-related topics when so requested.
